'After The War' - Gary Moore, Analysis

To 'After The War' album είναι το τελευταίο του Gary Moore πριν καταπιαστεί επί μακρόν με τα blues.
Κυκλοφόρησε το 1989, δύο χρόνια μετά το πολύ καλό 'Wild Frontier'.

To τραγούδι: 

Το ομώνυμο τραγούδι ανοίγει το δίσκο. Επιπλέον, ήταν και το πρώτο single το οποίο
κυκλοφόρησε το Δεκέμβριο του '88 και προλείανε τον ερχομό του δίσκου. Η σύνθεση είναι αποκλειστικά του Ιρλανδού βιρτουόζου.

Οι μουσικοί:

Αν και γενικά στο δίσκο, τύμπανα παίζει ο τεράστιος Cozy Powell, στο συγκεκριμένο κομμάτι παίζει κάποιος ονόματι Charlie Morgan που είναι session μουσικός και στα 80s έπαιξε τύμπανα σε Elton John, Kate Bush κλπ. Στα φωνητικά, στα backing vocals συμμετέχει ο Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann's Earth band). Κατά τ' άλλα Bob Daisley μπάσο και Neil Carter keyboards.

Οι στίχοι:

 Ένα κομμάτι εντελώς αντιπολεμικού χαρακτήρα, πράγμα που εκείνη την εποχή συνηθιζόταν στο rock / metal (βλέπε 'One', 'Holy Wars' κλπ.). Είναι χαρακτηριστικοί οι στίχοι ... They marched you in a uniform  You wore against your will.

Παίχτηκε αρκετά στο MTV και βοήθησε στην όλη προώθηση. Ο μεγάλος εμφανίζεται με μαύρο, δερμάτινο παλτό, ενώ σε αντίθεση με τα επίσημα credits, πίσω απ' το drumkit  βλέπετε τον Cozy.
