Ό,τι πιο ανίερο και βλάσφημο στις αρχές των θρυλικών 80s είναι οι Άγγλοι ( από το Newcastle )  VENOM , οι οποίοι ούτως ή άλλως έδωσαν όνομα σε ολόκληρη σκηνή, το black metal...
Tην ένδοξη περίοδό τους την βίωσαν ως trio (Cronos, Mantas, Abaddon) και η πρώτη επίσημη γνωριμία μαζί τυος γίνεται το 1981 με το ψαρωτικό σε image και θεματολογία 'Welcome To Hell'.
